I generally don’t know or care how the products I buy online are made. I get through life with the willful ignorance of thinking that everything is made with some degree civility towards those who acquire the supplies to make the goods and those who are making those goods. The implications of unethically manufactured gemstones seem minute on the grand scheme of things. For something so small, it hardly seems relevant. However, I felt empowered to learn that there is a level of craftsmanship present especially with the gems on this site. The videos documenting the cutting process provided insight to complexity of cutting gems that are only a few millimeters in diameter. I also found it reassuring that even though the task of cutting gems is done overseas, there is still conducted with respect to artisans.
